How it works
Names are shuffled and then distributed across the selected number of teams, keeping group sizes as even as possible.
The team generator shuffles the full participant list and distributes people across the number of teams you select, keeping group sizes as close as possible.
Add one person per line and remove accidental duplicates. Make sure everyone who should participate appears once.
Choose between two and eight teams. The generator will spread extra people across the first groups when the total does not divide evenly.

Balanced here means balanced by head count. Names are randomly shuffled and dealt to teams in turn, so team sizes differ by no more than one person. The tool does not know skill, age, role, or availability unless you organize those factors before generating.
Random groups work well for classroom projects, workshops, sports practice, and game nights. If certain people must be separated or each group needs a specific role, create appropriate pools first and run one draw for each pool.
